Carlisle was accidentally pinned to a nearby tree when the tree he had just cut fell in an unexpected direction. He died instantly. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Oak Hill cemetery in Upshur county. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Carlton Partridge of Pittsburg, Mrs. W. A. Carlton and Mrs. J. H. Kulisch, both of California, and two sons, Robert carlisle and Bertrand Carlisle, both of California, and two brothers, Marvin Carlisle of Pittsburg and Seborn Carlisle of Gilmer.
