Derrick, age 65, after a lingering illness of long duration, caused by stroke of paralysis, died Saturday night about 10:00 at her home two miles west of Gilmer. She is survived by two children, her husband having long since preceded her to the grave. The children are Miss Lottie Derrick and Mr. Joe Derrick. She was a noble Christian woman, who had many friends and relatives who will learn of her death with deep regret. Her funeral took place Monday morning at 10:00 o'clock and her remains were laid to rest in the old Derrick cemetery, a large concourse of friends and relatives turning out to pay this last tribute of respect to her memory.
