White, L.H. & Jimmie White, John O. & Polly White: To G.F. Belew The State of Texas] County of Van Zandt] Know all men by these presents, that We, Thomas White, and Wife, M.L. White and Lewis White and Wife Jimmie White and John White and Wife P.L. White of the County of Van Zandt, State of Texas, in consideration of the sum of Six Hundred and Fifty Dollars, paid and secured to be paid by G. F. Belew as follows: Five Hundred and Seventy five Cash in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, and one note for $75.00 of even date herewith, due October 1st 1897, with 10% interest per annum from date, and providing for ten percent Attys fees payable to Lewis White at Wills Point, Texas, and reserving Vendor’s Lien on land herein conveyed. Have granted, bargained, sold, and conveyed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said G. F. Belew of the County of Van Zandt, in the State of Texas, all that certain Lot, Tract or parcel of Land described as follows; Situated in Van Zandt County, Texas, in the J. Hamilton Survey, and bounded as follows; Beginning at N.E. corner of the original White Survey on Wills Point and Free Bridge road, a rock for corner. Thence N. 45 W. 368 varas, to corner on Bridges’ line on Dan Smith Survey, Thence West with said Dan Smith line 570 varas to entire line to Howell’s East line, from which an Elm, bares S. 80 W. 9 varas, Thence South with Howell’s line 84-1/2 varas to Hackberry bush, Thence South 63 East 815 -1/2 varas to rock for corner on road; ***Thence N. 40 E. 163 varas, to place of beginning, less, however, the following described tract, which is a graveyard and which is specially reserved out of said land; Beginning 23-1/2 varas, West from an Elm marked "X" ; Thence East 20 varas to corner on Dan Smith line; Thence South 127 varas to p.o. sapling, rock buried beside it, Thence East 30 varas to rock for corner, Thence North 5 East127 varas to the place of beginning. Also ten acres of land, out of Lot number One of the subdivision of 640 acres of land, lying and being situated in Van Zandt County, Texas, on the waters of the Sabine River, West of the Cherokee boundary line, patented to James Hamilton, assignee, February 9th 1846, by Patent No. 381, Vol.1 according to the plan of the survey and subdivision thereof by T. J. McKain, Surveyor, made in December, 1881, said Lot No. 1 containing 40 acres of land, and the ten acres here conveyed, being the ten acres on the South side of the tract sold by Thos. White to Russell and now owned by Ed Matthews, and on the North side of the 20 acres remaining in the Block now belonging to Thomas White, said Block of ten acres being 118-3/4 varas wide by 475 varas long; Also the following tract of 10-2/3 acres of land in Van Zandt County , Texas, and bring a part of the J. Hamilton Survey, Beginning at the East corner of an eighty acre tract sold by J. B. Nixon to Thomas White by deed dated February 23rd, 1874, and recorded in Book "O", pages 161 and 162, Records of Deeds of Van Zandt County, Texas; Thence S. 45 E. 126.7 varas, to corner; Thence S. 45 W. 475 varas to corner, Thence N. 45 W. 126.7 varas to corner, Thence N. 45 E. 475 varas to the beginning. Together with all and singular, the rights members, hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging, or in anywise incident or appertaining. To have and to hold, all and singular, the said premises unto the said G. F. Belew heirs and assigns forever. And we hereby bind ourselves, our heirs , executors and administrators, to warrant and forever defend, all and singular, the said premises, unto the said G. F. Belew, his heirs and assigns, against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. But it is expressly understood and agreed that a Vendor’s Lien is retained, to secure the payment of said note, according to it’s reading, tenor and legal effect. The State of Texas, County of Van Zandt; Before me, W. C. Blanks, Notary Public of the county of Van Zandt, in the State of Texas, on this day personally appeared Thos. White, and wife M.L. White, and Lewis White and wife, Jimmie White and John White and P.L. White his wife, all known to me to be the persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing instrument and acknowledged to me that the executed the same for the purposes and considerations therein expressed, and the said M. L. White, Jimmie White and P.L. White having been examined by me privily and apart from their husbands and having the said instrument fully explained to them they the said M. L. White, Jimmie White and P.L. White acknowledged the same to be their acts and deeds and declared that they had willingly signed the same for the purposes and consideration therein expressed and that they did not wish to retract it.
