White that lived in Van Zandt Co.,TX also who was oftern mixed up with my Thomas White;-EFW** Vol.70, Page 27, 28, 29: 28 October 1901: Josie Burge to Thomas H White: The State of Texas ] County of Van Zandt ] Know all men by these Presents: That I, Josie Burge of the County of Van Zandt and State of Texas, acting for myself, and as surviving wife of Alex Burge, late of Said County, Deceased duly qualified and now acting as such survivor, under the community laws of the State of Texas to control, manage and dispose of any and all of the community property of myself and my late husband the Said Alex Burge, my former husband now deceased; in accord and with Chapter XXVIII, Page 28: Title XXVII, of the Revised Statutes of the State of Texas by an order of the County Court of Van Zandt County, Texas, sitting in Probate for the transaction of Business pertaining to the estates of deceased persons, dated on the 22nd day of October 1892, recorded in Vol. 2 on Page 274 and A-95 of the minutes of said court, to which references is here made without any further action or order of said Court, and acting for myself and my late husband as aforesaid and in consideration of Four Hundred Dollars, to me in hand paid , the receipt of which is hereby fully acknowledged have granted, sold and conveyed, and by these presents do grant sell, sell and convey unto Thomas H White of the County of Van Zandt and State of Texas, all that certain tract or parcel of land, situated and described as follows; In Nacogdoches District, Van Zandt County, Texas, known as part of Survey No. 123 on the Western Waters of Saline Creek, about six miles North E. from Canton being part of the land granted by the Government of Texas to Jas Boslyne, on the 30th day of April 1845, by letter Patent No. 690 of Vol. No. 2, by virtue of Certificate No.702, abstract No. (4-3 or 43 ?); Beginning at a stake for corner (4 words unreadable) 7-6/10ths varas, South 45 degrees West and 236 varas North 45 degrees West from the East corner of said grant. The same being the North corner of 26 acres hereto fore sold and deeded by me to the said Thomas H. White a Post Oak 20 inches in dia. brs N. 10 degrees West 123 varas and Red Oak 14 inches dia. brs S. 64-1/2 degrees E. 11-1/2 varas. Thence, North 45 degrees W. 890 varas to the West corner of 126 acres of sand Grant deeded by Alex Burge to (Autowmoyun?) the first day of October 1881, by deed of Record Vol. 33 page 578 from which a Black Jack brs. W. 75 degrees W. 27-5/10ths varas, and a Hickory brs S. 44 degrees W. 32 varas. Thence, South 40 degrees W. 622-1/2 varas to the West corner of 250 acre decreed by the District Court of Van Zandt Count to Alex Burge, see Book G. Page 286, a Post Oak brs N. 80 degrees E. 7-2/10ths varas to (do?) brs S. 36 degrees W. 7-2/10ths vrs. Thence, South 45 degrees East 890 varas to the west corner of 26 acres heretofore deeded by me to said Thomas H. White from which a Post Oak 16 inches dia. brs South 69 degrees East 11-3/10ths varas (do?) 12 inches dia. brs South 32-1/2 East 14 varas. Thence, North 45 degrees East 622-1/2 varas to the place of beginning. To have and to hold the above described premises together with all and singular the rights and appurtenances hereto in anywise belonging unto the Said Thomas H White his heirs and assigns forever. And I do hereby bind myself my heirs Page 29: executors and administrators, to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the Said Thomas H White his heirs and assigns, against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same, or any part thereof.
