White that lived in Van Zandt Co.,TX also who was often mixed up with my Thomas White;-EFW** Vol. 54, Page 100, 101, 102: 2 October 1896 Josie Burge to Thomas H White The State of Texas] County of Van Zandt] Know all men by these presents, that I, Josie Burge of the County of Van Zandt and State of Texas, acting for myself, and as surviving wife of Alex Burge, Deceased, duly qualified and now acting as such Survivors under the Community Laws of the State of Texas, to control, manage and dispose of any and all of the community property of myself and my late husband the said Alex Burge now deceased, in accord with Chapter XXVIII Title XXXVII, of the Revised Statutes of the State of Texas by an order of the County Court of Van Zandt County, Texas, sitting in Probate for the transaction of business pertaining to the estate of deceased persons, dated on the 22nd day of October 1892, recorded in Vol. No. 21 on Page 394, of the Minutes of said Court, to which reference is here made, without any further action or order of said Court, and acting for myself and my late husband Alex Burge as aforesaid and in consideration of One Hundred Dollars to me in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby fully acknowledged here granted, all and conveyed unto Thomas H White of the county of Van Zandt and State of Texas, all that certain acres of land situated and described as follows in Nacogdoches District Van Zandt County, Texas, known as part of Survey No. 123 on the waters of Saline Creek about seven miles N.E. from Canton being part of the land granted by the government of Texas to James Baslyne by Letter Patent No. 690 of Vol. No.2 by virtue of certificate No. 702; Beginning at a Stake for corner at the South corner of Block No. 7 of 250-1/4 of land set apart by the District court of Van Zandt County, Book G. Page 286 from which a Black Jack 5 in. brs N. 23 degrees W. 8 -8/10th varas. Thence North 45 degrees W. 236 varas to stake for corner from which a Post Oak brs S. 69 degrees E. 11-3/10ths varas and Post Oak 12 inches brs S. 32-1/2 degrees E. 14-2/10ths varas. Thence North 45 degrees E, 622-1/2 varas corner from which 20 varas brs. N. 107 (?) 1-5/10ths varas Red Oak (?) inches dia. brs. S. 67-1/2 degrees E. 11-1/2 varas. Thence South 45 degrees E. 236 varas to corner the League line between the Elder Carew League and James Boslyne League from which a Post Oak brs N. 27 degrees East 2-4/10ths varas and a Post Oak brs. N. 63 degrees West 42 varas. Thence South 45 degrees West 622-1/2 varas with the League line to Beginning, To have and hold the above described premises together with all and singular the rights and appurtenances there to in anywise belonging unto the said Thomas H White his heirs and assigns forever. And do hereby bind myself, my heirs, executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Thomas H White, his heirs and assigns against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same, or any part thereof.
