The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgenwebarchives.org *********************************************************************** Book G, Pages 271, 272, 273; 1 January 1858 John G & Elizabeth O Reeves-McBee to Henry Scroggins: Warranty Deed; The State of Texas] County of Van Zandt] Know all men by these presents that I John G McBee and Elizabeth McBee his wife for and in consideration of the Sum of Three Hundred Dollars to us in hand paid by Henry Scroggins at the County of Kaufman and State of Texas the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold and released and do hereby grant, bargain, sell and release unto the aforesaid Henry Scroggins his heirs and assigns forever the following described land to wit, Two hundred acres of land situated in the County of Van Zandt on the waters of the Sabine River, it being a part of the Headright of Wm. H. McBee, Deceased. Which by reference to the Record of the Probate Court of said County will be seen to be division for Silas P McBee, Deceased of 700 acres of land and said two hundred acres of land being a part of said 700 acres set apart for John G McBee. Beginning at the east corner of No. 3 made for R McBee at a stake see Robert McBee’s field notes for witness Trees-. Thence N 45 degrees W 342 varas to the W Corner of Silas P McBee’s 700 acres Division from which all the divisions are taken. See field notes of Said Tract for Witness Trees -. Thence S 45 degrees W 3300 varas to a stake. Thence S 45 degrees E 342 vars to a stake in Prairie the W corner of division No. 3. Thence N 45 degrees 3300 vars to place of beginning;. Together with all and singular the rights members hereditaments to and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and singular the above mentioned and described land unto the said Henry Scroggins his heirs and assigns forever and we do hereby bind ourselves our heirs executors administrators and assigns to warrant and forever defend all and singular the aforesaid land unto the said Henry Scroggins his heirs executors administrators and assigns against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof.
