Robertson to Thomas H White The State of Texas] County of Van Zandt] Know All Men by these Presents, that Me, F.P. Robertson and Wife J.A. Robertson of the County of Van Zandt, State of Texas, in consideration of the Sum of (Five ?) Hundred Dollars paid and secured to be paid by (?) and Note as follows. $235.00 paid in hand, said also one portion , (3 words unreadable) for the (4 words unreadable) (date AD 1889, January/February 12 ?) Signed: (name unreadable) Have granted, sold and conveyed, and by these presents do grant, sell and convey, unto the said Thos H White of the County Van Zandt and State of Texas, all that certain (tract/parcel) of (headright?) in Van Zandt County, Texas, (2 words unreadable) of (G Saline Creek) about 6 miles N.E. from the town of Canton, in the County of Van Zandt County, Texas the same being a part of the Headright Survey of (Elder Carew ?) said part containing 76 acres more or less; Beginning on the S. corner of Black and to said corner Survey from which a ( Red/Dark Oak) brs S. 25 E. (unreadable) (Do?) P.O. brs N. 37 degrees W. 6 vs. Thence N. 45 degrees W. 460 vrs to corner. Thence a P.O. brs S. 42 degrees E. 13 vrs to a Hickory brs. N. 71 degrees E. 54 vrs. Thence N. 45 degrees E. 920 vrs to a corner. Thence a P.O. brs N. 48 degrees E. 17-6/10ths vs, Hickory brs S. 36 degrees E. 13-8/10ths vs. Thence (?) E. 46 vrs to the E corner of said Block 5, (which ?) a P.O. brs S. 53 degrees E. 12 vrs. to a (B Elm ?) S. 20 degrees W. (77/7710 ?) vrs. Thence S. 45 degrees W. 884 vrs (ditio ?) place of Beginning. To have and to hold the above described premises together with all and singular, the rights and appurtenances thereto in anywise belonging, unto the said Thos. H. White, his heirs and assigns, forever. And We do hereby bind ourselves our heirs, executors and administrators, to warrant and forever defend, all the singular the said premises, unto the said., Thos H White, his heirs and assigns, against every person whosoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same, or any part thereof. But it expressly agreed, and stipulated that the Vendor’s Lien is retained against the above described property, premises and improvements, until the above described notes and all interest thereof are fully paid, according to Its face and tenor effect and reading when this Deed shall become absolute. Thompson, County Clerk in and for Van Zandt County, Texas, on this day personally appeared F.P. Robertson and J.A. Robertson, wife of F.P. Robertson, known to be the person whose names are Subscribed to the foregoing instrument, and acknowledged to me that they executed the same for the purposes and consideration therein expressed. And the said J.A. Robertson wife of the said F.P. Robertson having been examined by me privily and apart from her husband, and having the same by me fully explained to her, she , the said J.A. Robertson, acknowledged such instrument to be her act and de e d, and she declared that she had willingly signed the same for the purposes and considerations expressed and that she did not wish to retract it.
