The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgenwebarchives.org *********************************************************************** Vol. T: Page 585-586-587 27 JUNE 1877 19 December 1877 Thomas & Mary E White Deed to Betsey Jane Valentine: The State of Texas] County of Van Zandt] Know all men by these presents that We, Thomas White and Mary E White of the County of Van Zandt in the State of Texas aforesaid in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars to us paid by Betsey Jane Valentine of the county of Van Zandt , State of Texas, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained sold and released and by these presents do grant bargain sell and release unto the said Betsey Jane Valentine all that tract of land being situated in said County of Van Zandt and State of Texas known and described as follows. The same being the East half of a fifty acre Survey deeded to Thomas White by John Spears and Mary M Spears, Joshua Huff and Rody Huff and Jacob Childress, the same being a part of the John Blair Survey for a League and Labor Situated in Said County and State on the Waters of the Sabine River containing twenty five acres more or less. The above is given in consideration for all the Rights and Title in my Estate hereby releasing and relinquishing all claims that the said Betsey Jane Valentine may have in said Estate together with all and singular the Rights encumbrances member hereditaments and appurtenances to the same, belonging as in anywise incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and singular the premises above mentioned unto the said Betsey Jane Valentine her heirs and assigns forever and do hereby bind our heirs, Executors and Administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Betsey Jane Valentine her heirs and assigns against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claims the same on any part thereof. White (seal) The State of Texas] County of Van Zandt] Before the undersigned authority personally appeared Thomas White and Mary E White his Wife who are to me well known and acknowledged that they signed Executed and delivered the foregoing Deed for the purposes and consideration therein specified and the said Mary E White, being examined by me privily and apart from her said Husband and having the contents and effects of the foregoing Deed fully explained to her by me she declared that she signed executed and delivered the same of her own free will and accord without the fear force or undue persuasion of her husband and that she wished not to retract it.
