L. Oldfield: The State of Texas] County of Van Zandt] Know all men by these presents, That whereas, by virtue of a certain order of Sale, issued out of the District Court of the County of Van Zandt in favor of Thomas Oldfield (vs.) John White on a certain Judgement and Decree of Sale, rendered on the 24th day of March 1897, and directed and delivered to me as Sheriff of Van Zandt County commanding me to sell the premises; Described in Said order of Sale, I C.B.Graham, Sheriff aforesaid, did upon the Order the 6th day of November 1897 advertise the said premises as described in Said Order for Sale by causing a written Notice of the time and place of said Sale to be posted up at three public places in the County aforesaid, One of which was the Court House door of Said County for twenty days previous to Said Sale and on the first Tuesday in December A.D. 1897 within the hours, prescribed by law, offered said premises for sale at Public Venue in the county of Van Zandt, at the Court House door thereof and at Said Sale, Said premises hereinafter described and fully set out were struck off to W. L. Oldfield for the sum of One hundred and five ($105.00) Dollars, he being the highest and best bidder therefor and that being the highest and best bid for the same. Now therefore in consideration of the promises aforesaid and of the Said Sum of One hundred and five ($105.00) Dollars the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, I C.B.Graham, Sheriff as aforesaid have Sold and by these Presents do grant and convey unto the Said W. L. Oldfield all of the Estate right title and interest which the said John White had on the 6th day of November 1897 or at anytime afterwards in and to the following named premises as described in the Order of Sale, [viz.:] Lying and being situated in Van Zandt County, Texas; Beginning at the N.W. Corner of R.N. Jourdans 105 acre tract from which a B.J. brs S. 50 E. 17 vrs. A P.O. brs S. 50 degrees E. 13 vrs; Thence North 4 degrees E. 949 vrs. Corner on (Lary?) Creek from which a Pecan brs E. 4-1/2 vrs, and an Iron Wood brs W. 2-1/2 vrs. Thence E with the meanderings of said creek about 350 vrs to corner from which an Iron Wood brs N. 66 E. 2 vrs. Thence S. 4 W. 900 vrs. To corner of Said Jordan’s N. B. Line f rom which a P.O. N. 86 W. 36 vrs. To the beginning corner containing 58-3/10 acres of land more or less to have and to hold the above described premises unto the Said W.L.Oldfield heirs and assigns forever as fully and absolutely as, I , as Sheriff as aforesaid can convey, by virture of Said Order of Sale, In testimony whereof ; I have hereunto set my hand this 7th day of December 1897.
