After the usual preliminaries, both sides announced ready for trial and the selection of the jury was begun. Prior to this the list of veniremen was called and fines were entered against three for failure to respond or be in attendance. Not many excuses for non-service were presented, Judge Bond forestalling such by a vigorous lecture on the duty of men so summoned to render service. He told them they were slackers if they sought to escape such duty to the state, merely because they did not wish to serve on a jury. The jury panel was completed the middle of the after noon and the hearing of testimony was begun. The accused woman is represented by Attorneys C.L. Hubbard and A. A. Dawson and they are making a hard fight for their client. The prosecution is in the hands of County Attorney Earl Greer, who is vigouous and determined in all efforts to bring the guilty to justice. It is not expected the trial will last more than two days, though a verdict may not be obtained until Friday. ********************************************************* USGENWEB ARCHIVES NOTICE: Copyright.
