Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana. Mr. Askins passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 in Grand Saline. He was born Dec. 6, 1925, in Utica, Okla. Mr. Askins owned and operated Mistletoe Shoe Shop in Dallas and Mistletoe Shoe Shop No. 2 in Grand Saline for 64 years. He was a member of Main street Baptist Church, where he also taught Sunday School for many years. Mr. Askins was preceded in death by his parents Elbert "Buck" & Bonnie Sullivan Askins, two brothers, two sisters and a son, Jerry Huddleston. He is survived by his wife, Freda Askins of Grand Saline; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy & Ludi Askins of Dallas; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Cheryl McMurray of Lubbock, Judy & Steve Ray of North Richland Hills, Dina and Ted Bell of Houston, and Teena & husband Ronnie Boyles of Grand Saline; and daughter-in-law, Francis Huddleston of Sulphur Springs; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
