Elven Dean Skinner
	Funeral services for Elven Dean Skinner, 80, of East Center Community, took
place Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at Eubank Chapel in Canton with Rev. mack Swain
officiating.  Interment followed at Oakland Cemetery in Van Zandt County.  Mr.
Skinner passed away on Feb. 25, 2007, at his home in East Center Community.  He
was born Aug. 31, 1926, in Oakland Community to Henry Lee & Oree Whitt Skinner.
 Mr. Skinner was a Baptist by faith.  He enjoyed running heavy equipment, he
also loved working with horses, breaking & training them.  He enjoyed trail
rides and wagons.  he just loved to be with his family.  He also served his
country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
	Mr. Skinner was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy & Benny Skinner.  He
is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joy Skinner of Grand Saline; two daughters,
lana Vickers & husband Richard of Grand Saline and Jan Swain & husband Mack of
Grand Saline; three sisters, Adell Thompson of Amarillo, Imogene LaPrade of
Grand Salines & Elaine Rains of Amarillo; a brother, Phil Skinner of
Farmersville; four grandchildren, Chad & Cody Swain of Grand Saline, Jaime
Fretwell of Austin and Julie Seay of Mabank; five great-grandchildren, Sherbie,
Samantha, Miranda & Kenned Swain of Grand Saline & Avery Grace of Mabank.
	Pallbearers were Chad Swain, Cody Swain, Coy Seay, Jay Fretwell, Cody Sewell &
Derek Stewart.  Honorary pallbearers were Larry Curtis, Patrick Worthy, Kenneth
Brimer & Mike Tuttle.
