The following obit ran in the Galveston County Daily News (Texas) on 8-29-1968, page 10A:

"MRS. GERTRUDE FORD: Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Ford, 56, who died Sunday 
morning in her home in Victoria, were held Wednesday at the Kelly-Hixson Funeral 
Home in Leesville, La. 
Burial was at the Leesville Cemetery.
Mrs. Ford was a former long time resident of Galveston and was associated for many 
years with the Galveston Housing Authority."
