HENRY DANIEL JONES of Atascocita, Texas died November 9, 2003 in his home while 
surrounded by those who loved him, after an extended and courageous battle with 
emphysema. He was born April 26, 1927 in Victoria, Texas, the son of Hubert Kelly 
Jones and Annie Laurie Jones. His life was dedicated the God, Country and Family, 
as an ordained Minister in the Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church and 
a Chaplain in the U. S. Air Force. He was a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel and a 
decorated veteran. Dan graduated from Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist 
University in 1955. His parents and his sister, Hettie Mae Sykora, preceded him in 
death. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Annye Moss Jones, his son, 
Daniel David Jones, his daughter and son in law , Debra and Jim Teel, and his 
daughter in law, Pamela Sue Jones. His brother Hubert Kelly Jones and his wife 
Elsie survive him. Dan is also survived by four grandchildren: Daniel, Andrew, 
Jennifer and Susannah. A service to celebrate Dan's life will be held at the 
Atascocita United Methodist Church at noon on Thursday, November 13, 2003. 
The Rite of Committal with Military Honors will be conducted at 2:15 at the 
Houston National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Atascocita United Methodist
