It was named after Elk Horn Grove in Shelby Co., Iowa where Scott grew up and played as a child. The family cemetery has been duly deeded and filed as a cemetery at the County Clerk's office in Hempstead, TX, Waller County. A great deal of work is being done to create a park-like setting in the cemetery that adjoins the family ranch. Scott died after a five month battle with leukemia. He leaves a wife and two children, and an incredibly large number of persons that recognized his unique goodness and deeply mourn his loss. Scott Stanley Forde {1961-1998)
