Date of earliest marked grave site was owned by Robert Wooding Chappell for whom city was named. Formed in 1957 Atkinson Cemetery association provides Perpetual Care. From Chappell Hill, Texas off of Hwy 290, take FM 1455 W one tenth of a mile to stop sign; take a right FM 1371 N, go three tenths of a mile turn left on Chadwick Hogan road; drive one and three tenths mile. Cemetery is on the left. The entrance has rough iron gates with stone pillars on each side. The cemetery is not very large.
