Jesse Perkins to Sarah Butcher;  Be it Remembered, that on the 18 day of January 
1874 the following marriage license was issued, to-wit:  TEXAS, TO-WIT:  Wharton 
County, SS.  TO ALL WHO SHALL SEE THESE PRESENTS, GREETING:  Know ye, that any 
persons legally authorized to celebrate the rites of Matrimony, is hereby 
licensed to join in marriage as husband and wife, JESSE PERKINS and SARAH 
BUTCHER and for so doing, this shall be his sufficient authority.  In Testimony 
Whereof, I, 
J. H. Harelevan (sp), Clerk of the Wharton County Court, hereunto subscribe my 
name and affix the seal of said Court, this 18 day of January, 1874. (signed) J. 
H. Harelevan (sp).  BE IT FURTHER REMEMBERED, That on this--day of__ 18__, the 
following certificate was filed in my office, to-wit.  TEXAS, TO-WIT: Wharton 
County.  THIS CERTIFIES, That I joined in marriage as husband and wife, Jesse 
Perkins and Sarah Butcher on the 18 dayof January 1874. (signed) J. A.
