County Star News 3/17/2016
Born 3/29/1930 in Zybach to Floyd and Maddie Edwards Atherton; died in Wheeler. 
Lifelong resident of Wheeler County. Member of Masonic Lodge. Custom wheat 
harvester in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and the Dakotas. Preceded in death by his 
parents; his brothers; and an infant daughter. Survived by son Gregory (Lea) 
Atherton of Lexington, Oklahoma; Kennan (Julia) Atherton of Amarillo; sister 
LaDell Atwood of Pampa; 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. Services 
3/11/2016 at First Baptist Church in Wheeler; interment at Wheeler Cemetery.
