County Star News
Born 11/11/1926 in Laketon to Ransom and Eunice Carter; died in Amarillo. 
Graduated from Mobeetie High School and immediately went into the Army. Married 
Peggy in 1948. Was a Wheeler County deputy and Game Warden for State of Texas. 
Preceded in death by parents, sister Diane, and a son Wayne. Survived by wife 
Peggy of the home; daughter Lynna (Bill) Crockett of Shamrock; son Steve (Tammy) 
Carter of Kellerville; sisters Bernice Hefley of Elk City and Mary Alexander of 
Ellicott, CO; six grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. Services 12/10/2015 in 
Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon
