All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************************* John Silas Fore moved to Wichita Falls in August 1888 from Young County, Texas. He established the first livery stable at the corner of 7th and Lamar. J.S. Fore served as Wichita County commissioner for Precinct 1 and was Sheriff of Wichita county, from 1901-1902. J.S. Fore was a rancher in Young, Throckmorton and Wichita Counties for a time. In 1888, the First Christian church was organized in his home in Wichita Falls. On 22 September 1889, he married Mrs. Mary Phillips Moody, daughter of John W. Phillips. Their children are as follows: Mrs. W.K. "Thora" Guinn Clifford Phillips Fore, who was a farmer. He graduated from Wichita Falls High school in 1910 and attended the University of Texas in Austin. He married Maude S. Fore and they had five children: John David Fore Burton S. Fore Mrs. Selina Devenger Mrs. Gene "Mary" Johnson Mrs. R.C. "Eunice" Taylor
