Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 3, at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel, Iowa Park, with Gil Peters, Minister of Edgemere Church of Christ, Wichita Falls, officiating. Burial will be in Holliday Cemetery, Holliday, TX. Denny was the youngest child of 10 children born to Herbert and Elsie Weyant of Windber, PA. Denny was born on February 20, 1945, at Scalp Level, PA, and attended school there. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam during 1968-69. Denny and wife Annetta “Ann” met each other while both were in the Army stationed at Ft. Knox, KY, and were married on July 30, 1969, after he returned from Vietnam. Denny was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8878, Wichita Falls. Denny was a carpenter and worked for Ray Hatcher, Hirschi Realtors, Garland Clarkson, Al Saikowski, and others. He also built the family home in the country where he and Ann lived for 31 years. Denny enjoyed working on the land and in his shop where he made countless wooden items. He was a member of the Brethren Church in Windber, PA, and attended the Holliday Baptist Church in Holliday, TX, and others in Iowa Park and Wichita Falls, TX. Owning a Harley Davidson motorcycle was one of his dreams that he accomplished in 2000. He was a member of the Red River Chapter of the Harley Owners Group and National Harley Owners Group. He rode in most of the area poker runs and also enjoyed riding with his buddy Paul around the area. Denny also enjoyed riding 4 wheelers with granddaughter Courtney. Denny loved his family and they were the most important thing to him. Denny was proud of his Pennsylvania heritage and jokingly said he was not a Yankee, he was a damn Yankee. He was the best one we will ever know. He will be remembered by friends and family and deeply missed. Survivors include his wife Annetta “Ann” Rich Weyant of the home, daughter Denissa Renee Weyant Karr and husband Aaron of Wichita Falls, sisters Edna Perkosky of Windber, PA, Shirley Huston and Tiny Fredrick, both of Bridgeton, NJ, granddaughter Courtney Renee Thompson of Wichita Falls, stepgranddaughter Haleigh Karr of Wichita Falls, TX, and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Herb and Elsie Weyant of Windber, PA, brothers Earl Weyant of Cleveland, OH, Bob Weyant of Falls Church, VA, and Don Weyant of Lorton, VA, sisters Mae Horner of Cleveland, OH, June Valchine of Windber, PA, and Ruth Trysnicky of Windber, PA. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 2, from 6 to 7 P.M., at Dutton Funeral Home, Iowa Park, TX.
