W. Orand who moved from Freestone to Wilbarger county last year, died last week at his home in that county.Ê Mr. Orand was for many years a resident of Freestone living on Ward Prarie and has many friends here who will regret to hear of his death." p. 39 (same publication) "July 15, 1892 Tribute of Respect Ê Whereas it has pleased our heavenly father to remove from our midst our beloved brother, J. W. Orand, a member of Rock Creek Alliance No. 2325, Wilberger County, Texas and also a member and true Christian of the Missionary Baptist Church.Ê The Bro. was in his 66 year, was born in 1828 and died May 28, 1892.Ê We must bow in submission to Him who doeth all things well.Ê So be it ÊÊ Resolved that in the death of our brother, the alliance has lost a worthy member, our county a kind and good man and a true parent to his family.Ê He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his loss. "A precious one from us is gone, A voice we loved is stilled; A place is vacant in our house, That can never be filled."
