J. Gowdy Mrs. A. J. Gowdy, 79, 1304 Deaf Smith St., died about 2:30 p/m. Saturday following an extended illness. Funeral Services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday at the Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Merritt, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Memorial Park. Mrs. Gowdy was born July 2, 1880 in Montague County. She married A. J. Gowdy on august 6, 1910 in Waurika, Okla. They moved to Vernon to make their home in 1910. Mrs. Gowdy was a member of the First Baptist Church.
