Light Special. Stockdale, Tex., July 25 -- The recent rains will be quite a benefit to the fall crop. All are anxiously awaiting the coming of the Gulf Shore. The Christian meeting conducted by Rev. Borden and son closed Sunday night with twenty-five additions to the church. The young folks spent several hours quite pleasantly Wednesday evening at the residence of Mrs. Norwood. Mr. Luther Bowden, a prominent young man of Wallace, has been visiting here several days. A protracted meeting, conducted by Rev. Camel (Presbyterian) commenced Wednesday evening and will last several days. Miss Nellie Hall, a charming young lady of Floresville, is visiting friends and relatives here. Vane Wiseman, a popular young man of Lavernia, was in Stockdale one day last week. Walter Turner, of this place, made a flying visit to Floresville last Friday. Miss Ella Yelvington, a beautiful and accomplished young lady of Lavernia, has been in town several days working in the interest of Baylor university, of Belton. Mrs. Dr. Boatwright has been quite ill for several days, but is now convalescent. Several families of this place are camped at the Sour Springs. George Moody and family, who have been visiting parents here, have returned to their home in Lavernia. Mrs.Taylor, who has been visiting relatives here, has returned to her home in Boerne. Several of the band boys were out serenading Tuesday night. Rev. Blumfield left las Saturday for Fairview, where he will hold a protracted meeting. Mrs. Dr. Holland is visiting in Belmond. Miss Beaulah Burnside, of Sayers, is visiting friends here.
