San Antonio Light, May 25, 1916
Walter Gilbert Nichols, 38 years old, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of his
niece, Mrs. Troy Spivey, near Lavernia; following an attack of heart failure. 
Mr.Gilbert was well known in San Antonio, having been a frequent visitor here. 
He was the son of pioneer residents of Wilson county and was born and reared
there, where he was a farmer.  Mr. Nichols is survived by two sisters, Mrs.
Rhoda Crow of San Antonio and Mrs. C. A. Rideout of Macdona, and three brothers,
C. E. Nichols of San Benito and L. E. Nichols and J. N. Nichols of Nixon.  The
funeral will be held in Lavernia Thursday.
