Tankersley on April 1, 1902, County Judge Wise County, Texas. Included in application, Affidavit of Witnesses and Physician. Physician W. L. York finds Jasper N. Bolton laboring under the following disabilities which render him unable to labor at any work or calling sufficient to earn a support for himself: diaphrynatic Hernia, Rhiumatism, chronic diarrhea, sworn to and subscribed on 14 Aug 1902 Direct Interrogatories to be Propounded to the Witness T. Bolton who is an applicant for pension under Act of May 12, 1899? A. Yes Int. 3, How long have you known the said J. N. Bolton applicant for pension and when and where did you first know him? A. In Confederate War Co. E. 6 Tex Cav. 1862 Int. 4, Do you personally know that the said J. N. Bolton applicant for pension, enlisted in the service of the Confederacy, and performed the duties of a soldier or sailor? A. Yes Int. 5, Do you personally know in what company and regiment the said J. N. Bolton applicant, enlisted and served in the Confederate army? When? Where? And the time of service? If you personally knew and so have stated that he enlisted and served in the Confederate navy, then state: When? Where? And how long he so served? A. Army of Tennessee- see ans. to Int. 3 Int. 6, Do you further know that J. N. Bolton the said applicant for pension, is unable to support himself by labor of any sort? A. Don’t know CROSS INTERROGATORIES To be Propounded to T. Z. Woodhouse T. Z. Woodhouse stated that he “knew of no other J. N. Bolton” and that he has “not seen him since the war” but “supposed him to be the same person”. He also stated that he “served with him in same company he was a good soldier”. I also have attached an APPLICATION FOR MORTUARY WARRANT I, J. W. Webb do hereby certify that I am the person to whom is entrusted the paying of the accounts and indebtedness of the late J. N. Bolton, who was a pensioner of the State of Texas, and whose file number was 9370 and whose original county was Wise. The said pensioner J. N. Bolton, died on the 24th day of May 1924 in the town of County of Wise, Texas. The pensioner died in the home of J. W. Webb (this affiant) who was related to the pensioner as a son in law. That the warrant, which application is hereby made for, shall be applied to paying all or part of the expenses incurred by the said pensioner, J. N. Bolton. I further certify that the warrant for the current quarter has not been cashed by the pensioner, to the best of my knowledge and belief. I am related to the pensioner as A son-in-law that my postoffice address is Decatur, Texas Route No. 7 Signed by J. W. Webb and sworn before Notary Public on the 9th day of May 1924. CERTIFICATE OF UNDERTAKER I, T. J. Dillehay, do certify that I am undertaker in the town of Decatur County of Wise, State of Texas that I had charge of the body of J. N. Bolton, who died in the town of, County of Wise, State of Texas on the 24th day of May A.D. 1924. That said body was prepared for burial by me on the 25th day of May A.D. 1924, and that I am of the opinion that warrant herein applied for should be issued to the said J. W. Webb who makes the foregoing application. Signed by T. J. Dillehay, Undertaker. CERTIFICATE OF PHYSICIAN I, S. J. Petty, do certify that I am a practicing physician, and that I attended J. N. Bolton in his last illness, and am of the opinion that his ailments were senility. I further certify that I am of the opinion that the Mortuary Warrant above requested should be issued in the name of the aforementioned applicant, in accordance with Act passed by the Thirty-eighth Legislature, and approved March 2, 1923.
