All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ******************************************************* Headquarters Battery and Combat Train, Second Battalion, 131st Field Artillery, of Decatur, Texas was organized and Federally recognized October, 1922, with Captain Newton P. Taylor commanding. Captain Taylor continued in command until November, 1926, when he resigned, and Gordon D. Roberts, then First Lieutenant, became the company's commanding officer. In February, 1928, Captain Taylor returned to command the battery again. On the resignation of Captain Taylor from active service in 1934, Captain Roberts returned to command and has been company commander since then. COMMISSIONED OFFICERS Captain Gordon D.
