Louis Horton was to officiate. Copestick died Aug. 2, 2000, in Fort Worth. Born Sept. 6, 1943, in Stigler, Okla., she was a house cleaner. She was married to Robert Copestick. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dakota Perkins of Stigler and Sidney Bryant of Decatur; four daughters, Vicki Torres, Tina Beasley and Lou Snider, all of Decatur, and Polly Monhuam of Keota, Okla.; a brother, Sonny Hale of Keota; three sisters, Anita McGuire and Sylvia Ford, both of Decatur, and Ruby McGuire of Fort Smith, Ark.; and 34 grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vaughn Eldie Dickinson 1912-2000 Funeral for Vaughn Eldie Dickinson, 87, of Paradise was Friday, Aug. 4, at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial followed at Paradise Cemetery. The Rev. Jack Vereen and the Rev. Keith Chapman officiated. Dickinson died Aug. 2, 2000, in Decatur. Born Oct. 17, 1912, in Park Springs, he resided in Paradise the past 60 years. He was retired from the Fort Worth ISD. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paradise and was active in the Wise County Methodist Men’s Organization. He married Lola Mae Hill in Paradise on June 2, 1934. He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Peggye White; a grandson, David Dickinson; two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include a son, Bennie Dickinson and wife Nancy of Chico; a daughter, Anita Chapman of Fort Worth; a sister, Doyle Sue Warren of Irving; a sister-in-law, Nettie Dickinson; nine grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Martin died Aug. 1, 2000, in Decatur. Born Dec. 24, 1907, in Grapevine, she was a homemaker. She was a long time resident of the Riverside area of Fort Worth. She was a member of the Riverside Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Martin; a son-in-law, Ben Shirley; and a grandson, Ben Edward Shirley. Burial followed at Chico Cemetary. The Rev. Joe Motsenbocker officiated. Mara died Aug. 1, 2000 in Decatur. Born Feb. 6, 1911, in Fox, Okla., she had resided in Chico since 1946. She was the retired owner/operator of Grooms Cafe in Chico. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chico since 1947. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Grooms, who died in 1949 after an industrial accident in Chico. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, John Mara, who she married in 1959 and who passed away in 1960. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, three brothers, three son-in-laws, Alvin Dawson, Thuron Thompson and Curt Cowley and four grandchildren. Born December 3, 1922, in Bridgeport, she married Ray Woolaver on November 13, 1970, in Montague County. She was a devoted and loving housewife and a Baptist. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Hudson, one brother and one sister. Survivors include her husband, Ray Woolaver; two sons, Dannie Holt and Ronnie Holt and wife Ann; four grandchildren, Sherri, Morgan, Megan and Nathan; and one great grandchild, Teven. Born May 13, 1931, he was a Texas Region construction manager for Raytheon for the last 11 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. After his military service he was employed by the FAA, retiring after 39 years of service as field engineering manager. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Fay; a son, Ward Donavan; his mother and father; and a brother, Troy. Jack McNiel was to officiate. McNiel died Aug. 10, 2000, in Bridgeport. Born Jan. 3, 1921 in Bridgeport, he was a Baptist. He served in the United States Army where he received several Honorable Medals, including: Victory Medal, American Theater Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal with three bronze stars and the Bronze Arrowhead. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mable Mooney. The Rev. Michael Laws officiated. Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie. Smith died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, in Bowie. Born Aug. 6, 1933, in Snow, Okla., to Nettie and Tom Smith, he married Jo Townsend on June 22, 1952, in Carlsbad, N.M. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He entered the U.S. Army in 1954 and served in the Korean War. He was employed by Philco Corp. and assigned as a technical representative to the U.S. Air Force. He worked on the early warning systems in Mt. Laguna, Calif. He transferred to the U.S. Navy in 1962. He retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1988 and moved to Newport News where he worked for the Thomas Jefferson National Laboratory. He retired in 1998 and moved to Bowie. He is survived by his wife, Jo Smith of Bowie; his mother, Nettie J. Smith of Bowie; two sons, David E. Smith of Bellevue, Neb. and William D. Smith of Bridgeport; three daughters, Laurie J. Smith of Bowie, Amy K. Boise of Phoenix, Ariz. and Dianna R.
