'Bill' Clowdus 1917-2000 Memorial service for W.L. "Bill" Clowdus, 82, of Runaway Bay, was Saturday, May 6, 2:30 p.m. at the Runaway Bay Community Church. The Rev. Gary Smith officiated. Clowdus died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. Born Aug. 20, 1917, in Wilson, Okla., he married Doris Lanelle Hagerty on Dec. 30, 1939, in Oklahoma City. They were married 60 years. A retired general manager of the LubriKup Company in Fort Worth, he lived in Runaway Bay 20 years. He was a former member of the Runaway Bay city council and the Runaway Bay planning and zoning commission. He was an active member of the Runaway Bay Community Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a charter member of The Club at Runaway Bay. He is survived by his wife, Doris Clowdus, of Runaway Bay; a son, Mike and wife Pat Clowdus of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Pat and husband Don Brownlee of Hallsville; two grandchildren, Jeff Brownlee and wife Karyn and Jenny Beaty and husband Kevin; five great grandchildren, Beau, Blake, Bradley, Blaire and Aimee; a sister, Viola Brittain of Ardmore, Okla. and numerous nieces and nephews.
