'Chief' Davis 1929-2000 Graveside service for Harold G. "Chief" Davis, 71, of Ardmore, Okla., will be Monday, May 15, at 3 p.m. at the Boyd cemetery. Roy Hannah and Dr. Virgil Trout will officiate. Davis died Thursday, May 11, 2000, in Ardmore, Okla. Born May 8, 1929, in Chickasha, Okla., to William and Idora Adams Davis, he married Doyle Hodge on July 25, 1959, in Springtown. He had lived in Ardmore since 1969, having moved there from Tulsa. He was a truck driver by trade and at one time was the Chief of Police in Azle. He also worked for General Dynamics for 13 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of the Maxwell Avenue Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Doyle Davis; his sons and daughters, Marla Davis Rodgers of Deale, Md., John A. Davis of Watauga, Glenda K. Anderson of Helena, Mont., Linda F. Gober of Paradise, Brenda M. Kelley of Benbrook, Larry G. Davis of Watauga, step-daughter Anita Clark of Huntington Beach, Calif. and his stepson Terry Holladay of Raleigh, N.C.; brothers and sisters, Lorena Johnson of Tulsa, Jerald Davis of Fort Worth, JoAnn Simpson of Fort Worth, Volena Yandell of Watauga, Ruth Autry of Lake Worth; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
