The Rev. Warren Crothers officiated. Burial followed at the Mountain Creek Cemetery in Saint Jo. King died Saturday, May 13, 2000, in Decatur. Born July 17, 1914, in Montague County, he was a retired heavy equipment operator. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Imogene Crunk on Sept. 20, 1937 in Decatur. She preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 1999. He was also preceded in death by a son, Travis Gene King. He is survived by a daughter, Linda and husband Jimmy Bishop of Decatur; daughter-in-law, Oma Gene King of The Colony; grandchildren, Janet and Steve Westbrook of Claude, Brad and Nancy Perry of Sachse and Andy and Jennifer Nations of Decatur and great-grandchildren, Eric, James and Kent Westbrook of Claude and Kimberly and Laura Perry of Sachse.
