J.T. Lambert 1918-2000 Service for Rev. J.T. Lambert, 82, of Denton was to be noon Thursday, May 18, at the Northside Baptist Church in Carrollton. Burial was to follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Lambert died May 16, 2000, in Carrollton. Born Feb. 18, 1918, in Decatur, Lambert married Jeraldean Reed of Decatur. He dedicated his life to working in the ministry and graduated from Arlington Baptist College. He held his first position as senior pastor in Springtown. He later became the senior pastor of Maple Lawn Baptist Church in Dallas. He retired in 1974 because of an illness. In 1985, Lambert returned to Decatur. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years in 1993. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Kenneth Richardson of Plano and Martha and Jesse Junkin of Carrollton; granddaughters and their husbands Deborah and Andrew Simmons of Rowlett, Alaina and James Ray of Plano and Kerry Junkin of Dallas; great grandchildren Rebekah Simmons, Hannah Simmons and Jordan Ray, all of Dallas; a brother, Joe Lambert of Decatur; a sister-in-law Lorene Whatley and her husband, Gus, also of Decatur. Pallbearers were to be Joe Lambert, Andrew Simmons, James Ray, Larry Tarr, Gail Starrett and Bobby Tillman.
