The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. *********************************************************************** Horace Leman McQuiston 1925-2000 Service for Horace Leman McQuiston, 74, of Runaway Bay, was Friday, April 28, at the First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport. The Rev. Michael Parsons officiated. Burial was to be Saturday, April 29, at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Tulsa, Okla. McQuiston died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, in Plano. Born July 2, 1925, in Okmulgee, Okla. to Horance Leman and Ethel McQuiston, he married Madalyn K. Brewer on June 9, 1946, in Winfield, Kan. There were married 53 years. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1949 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He and his wife had lived in Runaway Bay since 1977. He served on the Runaway Bay City Council from 1980 to 1984 and as mayor from 1984 to 1986. He was a retired manager in industrial relations for Lear Jet. An elder of the Presbyterian Church, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bridgeport and a member of the church choir. He is survived by his wife, Madalyn, of Runaway Bay; his sons, Harvey and wife Colleen McQuiston of Katy, Garrett and wife Kathy McQuiston of Plano and Mike and wife Kristi McQuiston of Decatur; six grandchildren, Meredith, Tiffany, Ryan, Cassidy, Carlye and Mallory and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Les Raley, Robert Mote, Ed Duris, Stan Briney, Rick Macom, Sam Park, Wayne Harveson and Dave Reilly. --------
