Burial will follow at Aurora Cemetery. Roy Deaver will officiate. Oates died May 26, 2000, in Decatur. Born Feb. 4, 1916, in Reno, Oates was a homemaker and a member of the Rhome Church of Christ. She married the late Brawley Oates on April 6, 1935, in Fort Worth. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sarah Lenorah and Beverly Ann Oates. Survivors include a son, Bill Oates of Aurora; a daughter, Winojean Mayfield of Paradise; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jackie, Kevin and Jack Stone; Sillie Jr. and Timothy Oates; Craig and Bennett Rasbury and Logan Meeks.
