            Harold Edward Proffer - 1928-2000

Graveside service for Harold Edward Proffer, 72, of Decatur, was Monday,
Feb. 28, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Bill Hughes officiated.
Proffer died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, in Decatur.

Born Feb. 5, 1928, in Hardin, Ill., he was employed as an installer at 
Craig Construction.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Proffer of Decatur; his son, 
Harold Edward Proffer, Jr., of Alton, Ill.; six daughters, Wendy Kurrin
of Denton, Susan Douglas and Nancy Douglas of Lake City, Fla., Deborah 
Fetterolf, Cheryl Green and Laurie Grimes of Decatur; and a brother, 
Bill Proffer of Brighton, Ill.

Pallbearers were Herbert Douglas, Mark Douglas, Rodney Fetterolf, 
Kenneth Green, Damien Kurrin and Timothy Wendt.
