The Rev. R. Roy Baines officiated. Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery. Rieger died Saturday, May 13, 2000, in Denton. Born Jan. 14, 1925, in Sanger, he graduated from Southern Methodist University and was a retired textiles salesman. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Joan Rieger of Denton; five daughters, Therese Williams of Boyd, Jan Hesselman of North Carolina, Margaret Rieger of Sugarland, Laura Maisel of Spring and Nancy Conception of Hawaii; two step daughters, Pam McElhaney and Lea Richards of Denton; one sister, Glen La Ray Bond of Bryan; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild and two step grandchildren.
