Robertson - 1927-2000 Service for Murel L. Robertson, 72, of Bridgeport, was Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Bridgeport. The Rev. Gary Sessions officiated. Burial followed at the Paradise Cemetery. Robertson died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, in Decatur. Born April 19, 1927, in Stevens County, he was a resident of Bridgeport since 1978 and a retired truck owner/operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Sea Bees and served during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, a former member of the Oddfellows and a member of the Cates St. Baptist Church in Bridgeport. He married Paula Fitzgerald on Jan. 28, 1989, in Decatur. He is survived by his wife, Paula of Bridgeport; daughters Bobbi Loftis of Shreveport, La., Missy and husband Edward Martinez and Stacy and husband Jimmy Williams, all of Bridgeport; 10 grandchildren, Damon, Lance and Amy Loftis, Nick, Candy, Masi and Kasi Martinez, Jessica, J.D. and Justin Williams and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Ernest Cantrell, Willie Bradford, Ronnie Jackson, Jerry Stinnett, Don Stinnett, Richard Lack, Bill Morris and Scott Cantrell. --------------
