The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. *********************************************************************** Belva Smith - 1922-2000 Service for Belva Smith, 77, of Weatherford will be Thursday, Feb. 24 at Grace-First Presbyterian Church in Weatherford at 2 p.m. Dr. Larry Thomas will officiate. Smith died Feb. 21, 2000 in Weatherford. She was born Sept. 22, 1922 in Fisher County. She grew up on a ranch in Kent County and lived in Rotan. She was married for 56 years to Bill Smith, who died in 1998. Smith retired in 1986 from General Dynamics in Fort Worth after 32 years of employment. She was a dedicated wife and a devoted mother and grandparent who enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an excellent dancer and her energetic and industrious life changed drastically early in her retirement because of Alzheimer's disease. Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Humphrey of Fort Worth; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mac and Janice Smith of Weatherford, Brent and Diana Smith of Weatherford and Brock and Angela Smith of Decatur; nine grandchildren, Laura Johnson, Houston and David Humphrey, all of Fort Worth, Russell Smith of Alta, Utah, Ellen Smith of New York City, N.Y., Susan Smith of Fort Worth, Matthew and Michele Smith of Weatherford and Cody Smith of Decatur; three great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, June and Jack Smith of Chula Vista, Calif. and Evelyn and Marvin Whitmire of Lubbock; a brother and sister-in-law, Flint and Mary George of Flower Mound; and numerous nephews and nieces. -----------
