Burial followed at the Boyd Cemetery and the Rev. Thural Reid officiated. Tackett died Feb. 25, 2000, in Garland. Born June 20, 1931, in Memphis, Texas, Tackett was the widow of Jack Tackett and was a retired seamstress. Tackett was a resident of Springtown for 12 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; three grandchildren; two brothers, Archie Eugene and Jessie Loper; and a sister, Martie Lee Loper. Survivors include two sons, Carl Tackett of Cottondale and John Tackett of Springtown; three daughters, Mary Tio of Cedar Hill, Wanda Brandenburgh of Pickton and Shirley Safford of Springtown; three sisters, Hazel Maddux of Decatur, Agnes Tatum of Jacksboro and Velme Forman of Hot Springs, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; Three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Rocky Tackett, Tommy Maddux, Steve Tackett, Rocky Loper, Mike Tackett and Jessie Loper. Honorary pallbearers were Coy Tackett and Kenneth McCauley. -----------
