Burial was in Greenwood Memorial Park. He died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at his home. He was born July 25, 1942, in Wise County, the youngest of six children born to Jessie Hassell Russell and Wylie B. Russell. He was a graduate of Texas Wesleyan College and Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. At the time of his death, he was serving as District Superintendent of the Weatherford District of the United Methodist Church. He had served as director of Church Growth and Development and superintendent of the Waxahachie District. He was a member of the Board of Ordained Ministers and former board member of Harris Methodist Hospital and Texas Wesleyan. He served University, Ridglea and Boulevard Methodist churches in Fort Worth as well as churches in Burleson, Azle, Grandview, Tolar, Poolville and Knob Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-nephew. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Russell; daughters, Amy Russell and Reba Reid and husband Nick; sisters, Marguerite Austin and Madeline Brown; brother, W. B.
