Burial, with Masonic rites, was at Oaklawn Cemetery. The Rev. B. Nunley officiated. Perkins died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, in Fort Worth. Born February 11, 1913, in the Hopewell Community in Wise County, Perkins married Audrey Myers on April 30, 1932, in Waurika, Okla. He attended school in Decatur and lived his entire life in the Decatur and Alvord area. Perkins served two years in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Decatur Masonic Lodge #447, the American Legion, the Fundamental Baptist Church in Decatur and the Decatur Fire Department. He was a retired mechanic from Wren Motors in Decatur after 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey on July 11, 1992; his mother, Alice Sanders and his brother, Oscar Lee Perkins. He is survived by his nephews, Delbert Lee Perkins and wife Bertha of Blue Mound and James Edward Perkins and wife Margie of Saginaw; caregivers, Edna Rushin of Decatur and Beverly A. Steve Weeks was to officiate. Patterson died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, in Decatur. Born May 28, 1913, in Athens, Patterson married the late Archie Patterson in July, 1942 in Fort Worth. She taught school for many years in Boyd and Azle and was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by a daughter, Alice Jane Ewing and her husband Jerre of Boyd; grandsons, Paul and Steven; great-granddaughter Morgana and two nieces. Barnard Barksdale in Justin, he graduated from Northwest High School and attended Arlington State College, now the University of Texas at Arlington. He served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, and he married Peggy Ann Long Oct. 13, 1956, in Yuma, Ariz. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Scottish Rite, Shriners and Veterans of Foriegn Wars. He was a past member of the Northwest School Board and a 32nd degree Mason. He was a retired, self- employed plumbing salesman. Most farmers and ranchers in the area knew Smith because she worked at the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service for 33 years, retiring in 1990.
