Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Williams died Monday, May 5, 2003 in Fort Worth. Born March 20, 1935 in Tyler, Williams was a Mason and retired as a U.S. Navy petty officer, serving eight tours in Vietnam. He married Rose Earlene Hall on July 7, 1952, in Rockwall, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, William W. Williams, and his brother, Charles Williams. She is survived by his wife of 50 years, Earlene Williams of Bridgeport; mother Thelma Owens; two sons, Darren Williams and his wife Tina of Bridgeport and Steven Williams and his wife Gail of Spring and three grandchildren, Jennifer, Parker and Carly. Thursday, May 8, 2003 John G. 'Jack' Henson 1935-2003 Funeral for John G. "Jack" Henson, 67, of Fort Worth was to be Wednesday, May 7, at 10 a.m. in the Coker Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. Joe Wooddell was to officiate. Burial was to follow at Sweetwater Cemetery in Wise County. A former resident of Decatur, Henson died Saturday, May 3, 2003, in Fort Worth. Born Nov. 18, 1935, in Decatur to Claude and Lela Henson, he was retired from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Henson was preceded in death by his father. Burial followed at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Smith died Friday, May 2, 2003, in Mineral Wells. Born August 8, 1931, in Bridgeport to Robert and Irene (Rogers) Smith, Smith was a lifetime resident of Bridgeport where he was a contractor in the construction business. Smith was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean Conflict and a member of the D.A.V. Chapter TX 70. He married Ella Livsey on April 12, 1959. She preceded him in death on Dec. 10, 1998. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Smith is survived by a son, Rick L. Paschall; a daughter, Billye Jackson; a sister, Francis Jenkins; five grandchildren, Leigh Ann, Christian, Courtney, Cary and Connor; and two great- grandchildren, Gabrielle and Hunter. Durban, 89 of Bridgeport was to be held in Hilliard, Ohio. His family will receive visitors at Hawkins Funeral Home Wednesday, May 7 from 6 to 7 p.m. Durban died Tuesday, May 6, 2003 in Bridgeport. Born June 14, 1913, in Hilliard, Ohio, he married Rose Eberhard on Aug. 1, 1937, in Franklin County, Ohio. He was a retired station manager for Standard Oil Co., a farmer and a member of the Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his wife. One of the first African Americans to work in downtown Decatur, she was a communications officer for the Sheriff's Department. She later worked for Victor's assembling welding torches. She married Roscoe "R.C." Knight in Fort Smith, Ark., on Sept. 23, 1977, and moved to Ardmore, Okla., where she worked for the police department. In 1980 they moved to Wagoner, where she worked for the Wagoner County Sheriff's Department and the city. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Roscoe C.
