Ogletree died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, in Fort Worth. Born Oct. 8, 1932, in Georgia, to Abbie and Mantha Ogletree, he was a retired truck driver for Albertson’s. He married May Ellington in 1968 in Fort Worth. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife; a son, David Ogletree; three daughters, Sue, Joanie and Laurie; two stepdaughters, Sharon Pustejovsky of Crowley and Connie Wilson of Decatur; two sisters, Mattie Bell Walz and Nadine McBurnett; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. James Henry ‘Uncle Jake’ Yeats 1915-2003 Service for James Henry “Uncle Jake” Yeats, 88, of Kenansville, N.C., formerly of Bridgeport, was Thursday, Aug. 28 at Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Bridgeport. The Rev. Ken Whitt officiated. Burial followed at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Yeats died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, in Kenansville. He was born June 25, 1915, in Moody, Texas, and married Gloria Cecil on Nov. 16, 1982, in Kenansville. Yeats and his wife ran hotels and restaurants in North Carolina. He was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughter, Linda Ward of Mesquite; son, Paul Yeats of Cottage Grove, Ore.; two step-children, Brenda Diaz of Ellicott City, Md., and Stephen Treson of Tinton Falls, N.J.; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. Born Aug. 17, 1988, in Salitrreal de Carrercs, Mexico, she was a freshman at Decatur High School and a member of the Assumption Catholic Church. Lynn Rainwater 1917-2003 Graveside service for Lynn Rainwater, 87, of Rhome will be at noon on Monday, Sept. 1 at the DFW National Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate. Born Feb. 10, 1917 in Vrona, Okla., to Arthur and Rosetta (Howell) Rainwater, he married Johnnie Mozelle on Jan. 6, 1944, in Bridgeport. He served in the U.S. Army and retired as a foreman with the highway department. He was a Baptist and a member of the Masonic Creek Lodge No. 226. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and three brothers. Born Sept. 12, 1913, in Wise County, he was a retired customer service representative for Texas Power and Light. He married Mallie Ruth Wilson on Oct. 3, 1936, in Oklahoma. He graduated from Decatur High School and attended Decatur Baptist College, Tulsa University and the University of Texas. He was a member of the Decatur Lions Club, First Baptist Church in Decatur and a 50-plus year member of the Decatur Masonic Lodge No. 447. Born June 12, 1925, in Decatur to A.D. “Pete” and Mary Etta O’Neal, she retired from the Wise County Clerk’s Office in 1990 after 45 years of service. She began her career for the county in 1946 in the county clerk’s office until 1969 when she was elected county clerk. She held that office until she retired. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jerry O’Neal. She is survived by her mother; a sister, Sierra Nichole Holestine; her grandparents, Bryan Keith Holestine, Jenette Lynn Holestine and Marie Ann Holestine; and her great-grandmother, Laura Rose Holestine. Pallbearer was Bill Holestine. Oleta Mae Hawk Jones 1916-2003 Graveside service for Oleta Mae Hawk Jones, 87, of Paradise was to be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at Paradise Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Motsenbocker was to officiate. Born Feb. 18, 1916, to Glenn and Viola (Richburg) Hawk in Paradise, she died Sept. 4, 2003, in Fort Worth. She married William David Jones on June 2, 1934, in Warika, Okla. Together they worked their farm until moving to Waxahachie for his job in soil conservation. She then worked at Kresky selling candy and peanuts. His work later took them to Bowie and Brownwood. They spent their retirement years in Granbury and Fort Worth. Mr. Jones died in 1985. Jones was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Paradise but also attended the Baptist Church in Tolar the last six months of her life. She was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Hawk,. Loy Terrell (Terry) Atkinson, 80, of Sherman was Friday at Key Memorial Methodist Church in Sherman with burial at Atoy Cemetery near Rusk. Atkinson served as pastor of United Methodist Churches in Bridgeport and Decatur during a 40-year career as a United Methodist minister. Atkinson was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran who served in World War II. He was a graduate of Hendrix College and the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. During his career, he led mission trips to several foreign countries including Israel, Panama and Costa Rica. He retired from the ministry in 1987. He is survived by his wife, Grace; two sons, Rick Atkinson and wife, Debbie, of Sherman and Randy Atkinson and wife, Karen, of Sherman; two grandchildren and a sister, Viola Conley of Benton, Ark. He served in the Army during World War II. He married Ruth Francis on Nov. 5, 1944. He guided hunters in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado for many years and was an accomplished horseman. He retired as a contractor. Buck was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard L. Turpin and Roy Gene Turpin.
