John Edwin Douglass was born in 1905 and was a well-known artist in Dallas.  He 
is one of The Dallas Nine, a group of artists in The Great Depression era whose 
works are studied and collected all over the country today.  John Douglass was 
married to Kathryn Ruth Helm.
