Sallie (Sarah) Lutecia Kerr was born in East Tennessee in 1836.  She married 
Hiram Hinkston Howe Hambright in 1866.  They had 7 children.  One infant, R.C. 
Jackson, died at 2 weeks old.  The family moved first to Atlanta, Georgia, then 
to Texas in 1878.  Sallie and her husband owned The Cottage Hotel in Rhome, 
Texas, and she was known far and wide for her genuine hospitality.
