Margaret died of the measles when William (W.A.) was only 2-3 years old and is buried in the historic Teague Cemetery a short distance from Aurora Cemetery. W.A. was a prominent businessman in Decatur, owning the Decatur Motor Company and selling the first automobile in Wise County to J.J. Perkins of Wichita Falls, Texas. He was an owner of Helm, Ward & Dillehay Mercantile and later, Western Auto on the square. He was very active with the First Methodist Church of Decatur and rose to the rank of Royal Arch Mason. He and his wife, Katherine Wells Hambright, had two children, Hiram Monroe Helm, Sr. and Kathryn Ruth Helm Douglass.
