Tuck (Edited) Charley Gregory obit - On Saturday morning, Jan. 28, 1939, Charley Lem Gregory was suddenly called away from this world of sin and sorrow, to be with his precious Savior. He was the son of Rev. W. G. Gregory, who preceded him in death ten years ago. Charley was born Sept. 12, 1881, in Alabama. He was married to Miss Stella Dowling in 1902, and lived in Alabama until 1906, when he then came to Texas located near Yantis, where he spent most of his remaining years. Early in his youth he was converted and united with the Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife and six children: Dowling, Paul, Lucy, and Thaddie Gregory of Yantis; Mrs. Mildred Hyde of Nolan, Texas, and Alwyn Gregory of Miller Grove; two grandchildren, Kenneth and Ellen Ruth Gregory; two sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Jeanie Johnson and Mrs Jettie Worthy of North Carolina; Lee Gregory of Alabama, D. C. Gregory of Nolan, Texas, and George Gregory of Greenville. Rev. A. J. Alford had charge of the funeral service, and he was laid to rest in the Yantis Cemetery.
