Derwin L. "Buddy" Erwin, 64, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at his home in
Denton. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at DeBerry
Funeral Directors, 2025 W. University Drive in Denton. Funeral service will be
at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, at DeBerry Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Randy Snow
officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Joplin.

Mr. Erwin was born Jan. 6, 1940, in Olney to Frank and Lessie M. (Hall) Erwin.
He graduated from Denton High School and was owner of Erwin Machine Shop. He
married Ruth Robinson Oct. 17, 1956, in Gainesville.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Erwin of Denton; a son, Bud Erwin of Ponder;
two sisters, Jo Hensley of Bridgeport and Frankie Sprabeary of Krum; three
brothers, C.S. Erwin and Bill R. Erwin, both of Denton, and John Erwin of
Graham; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
