All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ****************************************** Graham Leader, Tuesday, January 18, 2005 Richard Louis Hatfield, 63, of Graham passed away January 14, 2005, at Hospice House in Odessa. Military services were held on Monday, January 17, 2005, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Troy Stevenson officiating. Interment followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Odessa. Richard was born on September 19, 1941, to Louis and Pearl Hatfield in Wichita, Kan. Richard moved to Odessa as a small child and attended Odessa schools until entering the Navy at 17 years of age. He completed college at Columbia College in Georgia. Richard retired as Navy E9 Master Chief. He worked on gas pipelines and construction for numerous companies. Richard completed the waterline at West Side Possum Kingdom Lake and made many good friends in the process. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. Richard married Mary Eloise on February 13, 1965, in Kingsland, Ga. He is survived by his wife, Eloise Hatfield of Graham; two sons, Rickey Hatfield and wife Daphanie and Robbie Hatfield of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two daughters, Sherrie Edwards and husband Kenny and Cindy Pena; seven grandchildren, Lesley Hatfield, Heather and Richie Edwards, Erika, Erik and Eron Pena and Dusty; a great-grandson, Kaiden; two sisters, Saundra Hedger and husband Alpha and Pam Craig and husband Wallace; and a brother, Jerry Hatfield and wife Tommie. The family suggests that memorials be made to Hospice House.
