He married Mary Lou Herring on May 8, 1947. He was a retired oil-field worker and served in a South Pacific Combat Field Artillery unit during World War II. He and his wife were lifelong residents of Newcastle. Mr. Kinser was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Kinser of Newcastle; a son, Claude Kinser Jr. and wife Diann of Newcastle; a daughter, Linda Rowe and husband Frank of Cleburne; a sister, Louis Clayton of Graham; a brother, Aud Kinser of Tulia; two granddaughters, Missy Hemby and husband Tony of Mt. Vernon and Kim Hood of Newcastle; two great-granddaughters, Darcey Lewelling of Newcastle and Brianna Hemby of Mt. Vernon; and one great-grandson, Logan Hemby of Mt. Vernon.
